Smoke is a lovely 57’ semi traditional stern ‘Go Anywhere’ length narrowboat built by Midland Canal Centre in 2006. She is in nice condition and has been well looked after.
Externally, she is in good condition. The paintwork is clean, and both the cratch cover and pramhood are in good condition. Internally, she is well cared for as well.
The well deck is a feature of this boat. Overlaid with a well oiled teak floor, a teak table and a light over for evening illumination, this offers a cosy social space.
Steps lead down, though glazed front doors, into the saloon. At 10’ long, this is a lovely living area. Open plan with a super comfy two seater reclining sofa, a large wall mounted TV, and a cupboard housed stereo, it is super cosy. A solid fuel stove used to be in here. It has been taken out, but the hearth and collar remain, so easily re-instated if desired.
This leads into the Pullman dinette area. This offers a lovely dining area (with side hatch opposite), storage underneath and converts into a spare double berth.
The galley follows. Plenty of space at nearly 8’ long, offering utilities comrpising of a 12v fridge with icebox, a stainless steel sink, a washing machine, and a 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill. Plenty of storage as well.
Moving aft, the bathroom arrangement is unusual but ingenious. Off corridor, there is a separate cabin housing the pumpout loo and ceramic basin, and the shower cubicle is in a separate area. On the opposite side of the boat is a large wardrobe / storage area, and the door arrangement cleverly gives privacy to both the bedroom and the shower room when required.
This door leads into the fixed double bedroom in the aft cabin. Storage underneath the bed and a good sized storage cupboard at the foot of the bed. There is also wall mounted TV/DVD.
Steps lead out on the semi trad rear deck.
All the lighting is LED, she is centrally heated by a diesel fired Websato system, and hot water is from the engine, webasto or an immersion heater. 230v is from the 1600kva inverter, landline or the 3.5kw engine driven generator. A bank of 3 domestic batteries provide the 12v power. Pramhood and cratchcover offer protection from the elements.
A lovely boat, fit for residential or extended cruising.
