Isambard Kingdom Brunel is a 70ft tug style historic boat. She originated from Birmingham as a riveted iron butty in 1985. In March 1982 she was taken by lorry to Medway Bridge Marina where she was converted into a boat to liveaboard. From 1986 until 2000 she was then moored at Tovil Bridge Boat Yard in Maidstone. In 2000 she underwent several repairs.
From 2002 the vessel was converted back into a working boat to sell painted narrowboat goods until 2004 where she underwent major works including a steel bottom welded onto the iron hull, a new back cabin and a Beta Marine Tug engine fitted. The following year the main cabin was added and the vessel cruised the canals. Since 2012 the vessel has been used as a liveaboard with the current owners having a full repaint and blacking in 2016.
Internally, the vessel has a traditional back cabin as you would expect and an engine room with twin side hatches that houses the Beta JD3 Tug engine. She has 4 berths with the boatmans cabin converting into a double bed and a fixed double bed too. The walkthough bathroom contains a Porcelain cassette toilet, vanity basin and shower. The galley is equipped with a Belling cooker, 12v Inlander fridge, space and plumbing for a washing machine, breakfast bar and ample workspace. The hot water is supplied via a calorifier, immersion and back boiler, with the back boiler also suppling the central heating. There are two solid fuel stoves at either end of the boat. The electrical systems on board are well set up for a liveaboard including: 240v landline, Victron MultiPlus 3000w inverter / charger, 1 starter and 6 leisure batteries, 4 x 375w Victron solar panels with MPPT Victron SmartSolar charge controller. The BSC is valid until April 2025. A fantastic opportunity to own a piece of British canal history.

When you buy a boat from us you pay all monies in to our company clients trust account which means that the buyers and sellers money is protected. This is the same account that solicitors set up for house sales .This money does not belong to the company it belongs to the buyer until the sale is complete and then we pay the seller from the company clients trust account. We cannot release the money from the Clients Trust Account to the seller until the vessel has been accepted and handed over to the buyer because if there was a fault with the vessel and the buyer refused to accept it and wanted their money back we could not do this because the seller would of already had the money. This could become a very costly and messy problem for all parties.
This money never enters our company current account. This also means that we cannot use customers money for other purchases/reasons. If at any point the company went bust then the buyers/sellers money is safe and it would go back to the rightful owner of the money.
We have had this company clients trust account set up from day one to protect our customers money. This account is a secure holding account. We pay the seller monies due from this account when the buyer has signed to accept the vessel. Payment is made from this account to the seller by cheque from the clients Trust Account which is protected guaranteed funds.
