Cornmill is a charming 50’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 1996 by G& J Reeves, and fitted out by John Milburn. She has been in the same hands since new, and benefits from a survey in May 2023, blacking in June 2023, and the engine was serviced in August 2024.
The 4’7” well deck is covered by a summer cratch cover in good condition, with a spare winter cover also on board. The forward locker houses the Vetus bowthruster, to aid with navigation.
Steps lead down into the 11’ 1” saloon. Here there are 2 comfortable arm chairs, 2 fixed single seats (which convert to a sofa, spare single or small double when needed), Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove, and a range of storage. A 12v Tv and skybox sit neatly in a cupboard near the galley, and a starboard side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
Next is the 6’3” galley, with a 12v LEC fridge with icebox, Thetford oven & grill (NEW June 2024), Frigidaire spin dryer, stainless steel sink, and plenty of cupboards and drawers for storage.
A single wardrobe sits in the bathroom corridor, and the 5’10” houses a Thetford cassette loo (3 cassettes), ceramic wash basin, and square shower with tiled surround.
The 9’8” bedroom follows, with a fixed 6’3” x 4’0” double berth and storage under. This can extend to 4’6”, but an infill would be required. A large double wardrobe with drawers under provide ample storage. A port side hatch, and houdini over, bring in additional light and fresh air.
A step leads into the 3’7” engine room, with the Nanni 43hp 4 cylinder engine housed below the aft steps. These lead out onto the larger than normal traditional stern deck, with a large sliding aft hatch, and bimini cover over.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired system connected to finrads throughout. A radiator in the bathroom is heated from the engine, and an additional electric panel rad keeps the bedroom toasty.
Hot water is via the engine, immersion, or Eberspacher.
12v power is via 4x 100ah domestics, with a separate bowthruster and starter. 240v power is via a Sterling ProPower 2.5kw inverter, MOD 450w inverter, or landline. A RapidStart plug in battery charger and galvanic isolator are also onboard.
Lighting onboard is mostly LED.
At only 50’ she packs a lot into a small amount of space, and would be ideal for extended cruising or liveaboard life.
