Also Abey is a really sweet 40’ Trad stern narrowboat built and fitted out in 1991 by Neil Hudson.
She was grit blasted, metal sprayed and blacked with 2 pack epoxy in Nov 2016 at Debdale and the engine was serviced in August 2021.
She offers a fair amount of space for a 40’ boat. The well deck, has seats either side and the stainless steel water tank is under. Steps lead into the 8’3”saloon. which houses two comfy ‘chair beds’, a couple of shelves either side of the steps. There is a large cupboard under the kitchen worktop.
The galley follows and has a two burner gas hob, grill and oven. The sink is stainless steel and the fridge is a 12v Vitrifridge with an icebox.
The bedroom / dining area is next. The dinette has storage under the benches and comfortably seats 4 for dining. This then converts into a 6’3” double berth.
A corridor, with a wardrobe in it, leads aft to the bathroom. This houses a curtained shower cubicle, a Thetford Porta Potti and a handwash basin set over a cupboard.
Steps lead up into the engine room. The engine, brand new in 2015, is a Beta 38 with less than 1,200 hours on it. There is also a hospital silencer.
On board 12v is from the two domestic batteries and one starter. There is also a solar panel (est 100w) to top them up.
Central heating on board is a diesel fired Mikuni boiler, and there is also a wall mounted gas heater in the saloon. Hot water is heated by the engine, and there is also a gas fired Paloma instant water heater. Most of the lighting ls LED.
She is a lovely boat and will make a very comfortable holiday or residential craft.
