Amy Rose is a delightful 42’ cruiser stern narrowboat built and fitted out by Peter Nicholls in 1995. She oozes charm and character, and benefits from a hull survey and two coats of blacking this week (April 2021). She is clean and tidy both inside and out and fitted out in oak faced ply with carpet to the floors.
Both front and back decks are protected from the elements by very good condition covers, and the gas locker is in the forward hold.
The well deck is 4’ long and has both storage under it along with the 320 litre water tank. Steps lead into the cosy saloon. This houses a Morso solid fuel stove, a cupboard opposite with a TV aerial point, and a long couch. This converts into a good sized spare double berth and has storage underneath. Opposite is a really charming shelving unit which has a drop down dining table, akin to the traditional back cabin table (but larger).
The galley follows and utilities comprise of a 12v fridge (with icebox), a sink with draining board, and a four ring gas hob, oven & grill. There is plenty of cupboard space.
A corridor on the starboard side leads to the bathroom. The loo is a Thetford Porta Potti (with spare cassette), and the shower is a tiled cornered area with curtain surround. The wash basin is ceramic, and there is a wall cabinet above the loo.
The bedroom is in the rear cabin. The bed is a cross bed and has storage and the calorifier under. WHen extended it measures 6’2”x4’6”. A good sized wardrobe is at the foot of the bed with a small shelf / cupboard opposite.
Steps lead up onto the rear deck. The engine sits under (a regularly serviced Beta Marine Kubota 38). There are 2x domestic batteries and 1x starter supplying the 12v, and 230v is supplied from either the landline or the 1.6kw inverter/charger. Lighting is all Halogen.
She is a super cosy boat, ready to go and will make a super liveaboard or holiday home.
