Description

Monica is a sweet 55’ cruiser stern narrowboat built in 2003 by Price, Fallows & Co. She was fitted out by Border Boat Builders in a mix of sapele faced ply and painted T& G.
She was grit blasted, zinc coated, and 2pk epoxy blacked in 2022, which will remain protective for a good few years to come. Prior to that, she was last surveyed in January 2018, which is available for viewing in the office.
The cruiser stern deck is protected from the elements by a pram frame and cover (both in serviceable condition). The Isuzu 38 engine is housed below, last serviced in April 2024.
Steps lead down into the 8’7” galley, with a Statesmen oven, grill & 4 burner gas hob, stainless steel sink, 12v Haden fridge with icebox, and plenty of cupboards for storage. A thermal curtain for the rear hatch keeps this cabin cosy in winter.
Next is a 6’8” U-shaped dinette, with a demountable table and more storage under. This converts to a spare double berth when needed.
The 7’5” bathroom is mid-ship, with an Indesit washing machine and cupboards in the corridor on the way. There is a folding ‘tip-up’ style wash basin over a bath, and shower over that. The Thetford Porta Potti wc is opposite, with a spare tank and toilet section as well.
Following, the bedroom features a 6’5” x 3’10” fixed double berth, with shelves over and open storage under.
The saloon is in the forward cabin, large at 10’1”, with a folding desk and armchair, Arada solid fuel stove, 12v Cello TV, and more cupboards. The captains chair currently on board is not included in the sale.
There is also plenty of storage space under the well deck, accessed from behind the forward steps, which lead out onto the 3’7” cratch covered external space.
She is centrally heated by an Autoterm diesel fired system connected to 4 radiators, with Comfort multi-setting controls, and hot water is via the Autoterm or engine.
12v power is provided by 1x 460w Lithium domestic battery, with a separate starter, topped up by 490w of solar with a Victron MPPT solar charge controller. 240v power is via a Victron 1600w inverter/charger, Hyindai 2kw generator, or landline with galvanic isolator. There is also a Victron battery monitor installed.
Lighting onboard is a mix of LED and halogen.
She comes with all the necessary navigation equipment ready to turn the key and go!
