Spirit of Freedom is a charming 58’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 2007 by Severn Valley Boat Centre. She is fitted out in American oak faced ply with oak trim, with oak laminate and carpet to the floors.
She had an in-water survey in November 2019, she was last blacked in April 2023, including the bowthruster tube and repainted tunnel bands, and the engine was serviced in August 2023.
The cratch covered well deck is 4’0” with bench lockers either side, and a folding camping table for alfresco dining.
Steps lead down into the 11’2” saloon, with a 2 seater sofa bed, Bubble multi fuel stove, and a range of cupboards for storage. Above one of the cupboards is space and cables for a tv, connected to a Maxview self seeking satellite dish on the roof.
Next is the 4 seat dinette, with converts to a space double when needed. A 12v Shoreline freezer is under, along with additional storage space. A starboard side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
The 9’0” galley follows, with Corian worktops, Spin Flo eye-level oven & grill, 4 burner gas hob, microwave, large sink, and lots of cupboards, drawers and shelves. A port side hatch brings in additional light and fresh air.
Following, the 6’0” bathroom features a shower over hip bath (with shower curtain), Thetford cassette toilet, ceramic wash basin, Zanussi Aquacycle washing machine, and more cupboards and shelves.
The 8’10” bedroom is at the aft, with 2 fixed singles (5’8” x 2’0”), 2 wardrobes, and more drawers. The beds can also be converted into a 6’2” long cross bed double when needed.
Steps lead out into the 4’6” engine room, with a tumble dryer stored above and the Barrus Shire 45hp engine housed below. Navigation is also aided by a Vetus 55kgf bowthruster. Another step leads out onto the stern deck, with taff seats either side.
She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired boiler (not working) connected to 3 radiators and a towel rail. Hot water is via the Eberspacher and engine.
12v power is provided by 4x 110ah domestics with separate starter and bowthruster supply. 240v power is via a Sterling 1.8kw inverter, or landline with a Sterling battery charger and galvanic isolator.
Lighting is LED throughout.
If you fancy a life by the water, and the Spirit of Freedom calls to you, then this boat may be the one!
