The Roosters Rest is a charming 57’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 2008 by Tim Tyler/Mike Christian, and fitted out by Robert Edgely of Dream Narrowboats, and she was blacked in June 2023.
The cratch covered well deck features lockers either side, with a glazed cratch board looking out over the bow.
Steps lead down, through glazed forward doors, into the 10’0” saloon. Here there is a 2 seat sofa, Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove, and a range of cupboards and shelves for storage. A wall mounted bracket and cables are ready for a tv, with 2 built in speakers and an Alba CD/radio on board too!
Next is the 5’0” dinette, which converts to a small berth when needed. There is plenty of storage under.
The 7’8” galley follows, with laminate worktops, a stainless steel sink, water filter tap, 12v Shoreline fridge, 12v Shoreline freezer, Spinflo gas oven, grill and 4 burner hob, and more cupboards and shelves. Glazed side hatches either side bring in plenty of additional light, and fresh air when open.
The bathroom is 5’10” with a shower over bath, Thetford cassette loo, and ceramic wash basin over vanity cupboard.
Following, the 7’10” bedroom features a 6’1” x 5’0” cross bed double, with full height single wardrobes either side.
A 3’6” utility room comprises of large cupboards either side, with a Hotpoint top loading washing machine on the starboard side. This corridor leads into the engine room, with the Vetus 42hp engine housed below.
Steps lead out onto the trad stern deck, with taff seats and (rather unusually) a pram cover over the aft hatch.
She is centrally heated by an Alde gas boiler connected to 2 radiators and a towel rail. Hot water is via the Alde, engine or immersion.
12v power is via 4x 116ah AGM domestics with a separate starter, topped up by 600w of solar with an Epever MPPT solar charge controller. 240v power is via a Victron Phoenix Multiplus 3kw inverter/charger, 3.5kw Dometic travel power generator, or landline.
Lighting on board is LED throughout, including under gunwhales.
She is ready to turn the key and go!
