Historic small Northwich butty. Constructed 1929. Ex LMS
Lots of work was completed on the undercloth conversion, but sadly, we have no time to finish it.
Naples is a historic small Northwich butty constructed in 1929 from rivetted iron by Yarwoods. Originally an open vessel, she was built for LMS (LMS 56) She moved through many different fleets where she was named Kidsgrove, Brenda, Debra and finally Naples
The current steel back cabin was added in 1954
All sensible offers considered. Please note this is a butty boat. Designed to be pulled by a horse or paired with a motor boat that would tow it. It never had an engine.
She was bottomed and refooted in steel around 2007. She remained with an open hold until 2018
In 2018 the hull was straightened and strengthened with new steel ribs replacing the old iron knees and a new full-length steel gunwale on both sides
A new steel top was fabricated.
The hull and top were spray-foamed and lined.
It has been wired for 12v / 230v.
Plumbed for water / CH/gas/diesel - not complete, but most parts are present.
Kitchen partially fitted
The last hull survey was in 2021
Currently out of the water
All sensible offers will be considered.
The conversion has used the maximum possible dimensions to create a large living space in the hold with maximum headroom.
Opening portholes and roof lights give a light, airy interior.
The two-pack coating applied to the cabin top has failed in several places and requires treating and re-coating. The hull was last blacked in 2022
Some portholes and roof lights are suffering from small leaks – probably due to the failed coating.
Doors need further fabrication work to make them weatherproof and secure.
Although the back cabin is fitted out, the floor requires replacement
The rudder is in need of replacement but is still usable.
